About Chantal
Early Training
Holistic Dance & Arts have always been very much a part of my life. I originally studied psychology in my native France, at Aix-en-Provence University.
I later received a BA Hons in Fine Art (Sculpture) from St Martin’s School of Art, London. It was during these years at Central St Martin's, that Dance became an integral part of studio practice and the vital link between creativity, dance, healing and spirituality was born.
Further Development
Soon after graduation, training in contact and absent healing as a colour spiritual healer, was followed by some Bharatanayam, Shamanic Dance and Contact Improvisation. Later, training in dance was consolidated over a 3-year period, primarily with the British choreographer Gaby Agis, student of Joan Skinner, the founder of Skinner Releasing technique. I was fortunate to participate in a week of Skinner Releasing during one of Joan's visits to England.
Other paths
Alongside this preparation, I attended group therapy as part of a 3-year training in Group Facilitation. This was supplemented by a course which explored the vast arena of dance and psychotherapy.
My inspiration and strength is bestowed from the teachings of genuine Tibetan Buddhist masters. Under their guidance, I have daily integrated meditation with the multiple challenges of family life and work.
